Draft King's 2026 NFL Draft News

There was an amusing moment in the otherwise tense postgame press conference for South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer last Saturday, moments after losing in a monumental collapse at Texas A&M, when a reporter brought up the conjecture of the possibility of Gamecocks QB LaNorris Sellers transferring after the season.
The real horse garbage is the current system where poor coaching performances are rewarded with massive go-away paydays. Beamer has a $27.9 million buyout in his contract.
But Beamer had a point with the horse garbage talk: Sellers is expected to return to South Carolina for 2026 per multiple reports that came out after my Nov. 13, 2025 piece. Remember, sometimes you have to look for the pushback with this.
Likewise, Oregon QB Dante Moore is now expected to stay in college for 2026. And the belief for many moons has been that Texas QB Arch Manning will return to Austin for the 2026 season.
You can see how this is going to impact the top of the NFL draft board, and we're not even getting into the non-QB possibilities.
What might've once felt like a novelty gimmick 2026 mock draft now becomes reality: no Manning, no Moore, no Sellers.
Obviously, plans can change. But teams that might've hoped to find a long-term answer at quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft could instead find themselves having to wait until 2027.
There's also the issue of Arizona QB Kyler Murray, who is not expected to return to the Cardinals for the 2026 season. Murray's contract makes trading him challenging and could lead to Murray being released instead of being dealt to another team.
If Murray hits the open market, where might he end up?
