Draft King Analysis

There was shock and surprise among some when the Rams ended up with highly touted RB Steven Jackson. But consider this: Marshall Faulk is 31, he failed to rush for 1,000 yards for a second straight season in 2003, and his yards per rush average last year dipped below 4.0 for the first time since 1996. With his injury concerns fresh in their mind, the Rams wanted to land a top flight RB with strong pass catching skills. Steven Jackson fits the bill on that.

Beyond that, St. Louis landed Hargrove at #91 to fill the void left by DE Grant Winstrom's departure to divisional rival Seattle. Smoker at #201 is an interesting choice, as someone with his precision passing skills should flourish in Mike Martz's system.
