Draft King Analysis
Lions fans should be thrilled by how their team fared in the 2004 Draft. Landing Roy Williams at #7 was great; while Winslow at #6 would've been nice, Williams and Charles Rogers will combine to be a young, dynamic duo at WR for Detroit. Moreover, the move gave Detroit the latitude to trade up later on and snag Kevin Jones, who by all indications will be the team's primary RB this season (unless you think that Shawn Bryson is going to get the job done there -- and I don't).
Teddy Lehman joins Boss Bailey in building a core of young LBs, while Keith Smith adds depth to the secondary (there's no guarantee that Dre' Bly will have another year in 2004 like he did last season). Overall, Detroit worked the draft masterfully and came out looking great.
