Draft King Analysis
Atlanta needed a shutdown CB and a talented WR out of this draft... and they secured both in the first round. Hall was ranked by most observers as the top CB prospect (plus he can play as a PR/KR), and Atlanta snatched him up at #8. Then, when WRs started flying off the board like crazy, the Falcons wisely moved up and took Jenkins at #29. Very nice.
The selection of Matt Schaub in Round 3 is curious, but after what happened to Michael Vick last season, perhaps the Falcons want to develop depth at the backup QB spot. Chad Lavalais at #142 was a great value pick who will help add depth to the defensive line in Atlanta. Nice job by the Falcons.
