I'm a big Michigan fan, and Mike Hart is a phenomenal college athlete. But will any team take a chance on him in the first day? I mean, he blocks incredibly well and has excellent vision. He has to at least have a shot at first day status, right?

Lou: I'm a big fan of Mike Hart. He's a borderline first round pick, but probably more likely to fall into the second round; at 5'9" 195 pounds, he is below-average size for the position. 5'10" LaDainian Tomlinson has had a successful NFL career, but he weighs 220 pounds, which makes a difference when it comes to taking an NFL-level pounding.

You're right about Hart having good vision, and his quickness with his cuts is impressive. His blocking ability is above-average, though we'll see how he can handle chipping NFL caliber defenders.

It's possible that Steve Slaton and Darren McFadden and Felix Jones could all return to college for 2008. Highly unlikely, for sure, but it could happen, and in that case it would be a major boon for Hart.

Realistically, Hart is probably going to go in the early second round, maybe to a team like Oakland if the Raiders miss out on Darren McFadden in round one. He could slide a bit depending on injuries, the combine, etc., but he should be a productive running back if given the right opportunity in the NFL.

Subject: I know Saturday ball is your wheelhouse, but

Just wanted to wish you best of luck on the new endeavor. I also wanted to pick your brain about the Bucs RB situation. TBO announced that the Bucs would have a new player signed today(a spot opened up by placing Simms on IR), and would not be a trade acquisition. I am intrigued to find out who it would be, and outside of Corey Dillion I don't know any unsigned RB worth much. I didn't know if you had a) any inside knowledge of good talent RB available or b) if you were going to be named now that you are a free lance internet guru? Hope all is well, and DraftKing looks great.

Lou: If there was an elite RB talent available, you might think that the Bucs or Texans would have already jumped on him. Clearly, Corey Dillon is still an NFL quality RB (even though he turns 33 later this month), and he is in the position to pick his spots, even if that means choosing retirement. It's Ricky Watters 2001 with him, only without the fear of flying.

It has been reported that the Bucs contacted Dillon's agent Steve Feldman and that Dillon told Feldman no via a text message. Unless things change, I don't see Dillon coming to Tampa.

The Bucs signed free agent RB/FB Zack Crockett, who had a memorable game in January 1996 for the Colts, filling in for an injured Marshall Faulk and scoring two TDs and running for 147 yards. But that was more than 11 years ago, and I don't see the Bucs looking to him to be a major RB force. It may be up to Earnest Graham to show what he has.

It has been rumored that the Bucs are looking to acquire Vikings RB Mewelde Moore, but the Vikings are reportedly holding out for a first day pick... at least for now.
