It's going to be very catch-as-catch-can for the next little while, as the radio show that I work for debuts on January 9, 2006 and I'll be up in NYC working on that for the first two weeks. Thrilling? You'd better believe it. But the downside is that keeping up with things on here is going to be tough for a little while.

Props to you for already having a mock out the day after the season ended. I’m worried that with all the buzz with Cutler, that he will not fall down to 16. And the Phins are in no position to trade away picks to move up. If Cutler does get picked early, does OL become the next priority, or CB? I keep hearing about Madison not coming back, and they need to get that line shored up for Ronnie and Ricky, plus protecting whoever does QB. The only other concern I had with your Mock is, how could Detroit pass on Hagan with the 9th pick? Seems like the perfect fit for them doesn’t it? Cheap shot, I know. Keep up the good work.

Lou: There are a number of directions that the Dolphins could take. Nick Saban's 9-7 performance has been strangely underpromoted, though it was incredibly impressive, particularly for a guy coming from the college ranks and joining a team in turmoil.

The possibility of Vince Young entering the draft changes things quite a bit as it involves Jay Cutler. With Young in there with Matt Leinart, suddenly Cutler becomes the #3 QB prospect, and it looks more likely that the Dolphins would have a shot at him. Vernon Carey was a recent first-round pick who Miami converted from OG to OT, though it is possible that the team could go with someone to groom for the left OT position. The front seven on defense seems alright to me; I'd say CB would be a position to consider at well for Miami. Another WR to go with Chris Chambers would be helpful as well.

Subject: Hey lou im a big dallas fan and i was wondering

Hey lou how is it doing? im a big dallas fan and have watched every game this year. There have been Rumors flying bill parcels will leave dallas for possibly detroit or just retire if you think he does do you think it will effect who we take in the first round? Rite now i think we may take a WR like Hagen and adress the O Line need in the 2nd round and FA i also think we may take a greg blue from georgia who led the team in tackles in the 04-05 season iven with first rounders thomas davis and david pollick and 2nd round pick odell thurman. Well please let me kno wat you think on the bill parcells situation and how u think a new coach would effec the way we drat and adress FA. One point i would like to throw in is Adressing the WR postion T-glenn and K-johnson arent getting younger and If we bring in T.O he not to young any more either so i think we need to get a young play maker

Lou: See yesterday's mailbag for more on Dallas and how Parcells will impact the team's decision-making process. As for T.O., it would be interesting to see if Owens and Parcells could co-exist. And would Dallas fans forgive Owens for disrespecting the Cowboys star like he did in 2000?

Where’s Vince Young? Not even a first round? I think with Steve McNair’s injuries and age that the Titans will jump at Vince. Otherwise I think your projections are right on the money based on player caliber and by what each team needs.

Lou: If Vince Young declares for the draft, he'll be a high pick. At the time of the most recent mock draft (made on Jan. 2, 2006), I did not anticipate that Young would be entering the draft. I'm now rethinking that considerably after Young's amazing performance last night.

As for the Titans, they have Billy Volek, so I wouldn't think they'd take Vince Young. But then again... Young is like a really, REALLY special player.

I love your input and I would just like to get your input on my cowboys situation. Being that we pick 18th do you see us going with an OT? As much as I really want a young stud WR its very obvious that our real need right now is on the o-line and at FS. That being said also do you see us picking up any good free agents at FS or WR?

Lou: As previously mentioned, what the Cowboys do is predecated first and foremost on if the team can keep Bill Parcells. If Parcells stays, an offensive tackle makes sense at the #18 spot. A young WR is a need, but so long as Parcells is there, I don't see the Cowboys going that way in the draft.

As for free agency, you might see some action there, both at FS and perhaps to get a good value WR who can be an impact player without costing too much (as a first round WR might.) What's best for Dallas long-term, and what's best for Parcells, are not one and the same. Keep that in mind as you follow the situation.
