Lou,
Do you see Cincinnati drafting Munoz in the third round?
The Bengals need some depth at Tackle, Center and Defensive End. Your thoughts?

Lou: While some teams question the durability and athleticism of Michael Munoz, most believe that he will be a second-to-early third round selection. I'd be shocked if he somehow made it past both the Browns and the Titans and the Rams (who have Chicago's third rounder) and the Eagles (who have the Chiefs' third rounder) in the top of the third round. If somehow he does, Cincinnati would be wise to snap him up as a major value pick at #83 overall.

What I think is most important for Cincinnati is to obtain a solid DT in the draft. Round 1 will be critical, and I suspect it may come down to DT Travis Johnson and if the Saints at #16 make a move on him or allow Johnson to slide to Cincinnati at #17. With mocks being what they are, odds are the Bengals will end up not taking him, but if you're looking at things from a strictly need standpoint, that would be a nice matchup.

Subject: Cleveland Browns Draft

First and foremost this is the first time looking at your Draftsite and I think its very indepth, and formal. I think you provide the outside the box thinking and take certain factors into considering your mocks (i.e. Entire Rosters and Depth Chart). As far as my vision as a Cleveland Browns fan, and What I feel, is best for the team to do is trade down and build up their roster. But, lets say they can't trade down. My pick for Cleveland is Braylon Edwards or Antrel Roll. Edwards is the one thing missing from the Cleveland receiving core. A play maker. Pair him with up and comers A. Bryant, and A. Davis and Northcutt as your change of pace. I think we have one of the best receiving 4 as their is in the league. I like A. Rolle also because I think we have a serious need for a Corner. Our depth is not very good and in my opinion is the best Cornerback in the draft. Physical, quick, and Covers well. Gotta love it. Keep up the good work Lou as I'll tune in everyday to your website until the draft and look for your analysis afterwards.

Lou: I appreciate the kind words, Matt. I think you are in agreement with most Browns fans, and most neutral observers, who feel that Cleveland needs to trade down from #3. There are just too many needs for the Browns at this point for them to stick at #3, particularly with multiple teams (Minnesota and Arizona) showing interest in trading up. Moving to #7 or #8 will give the Titans a chance to take a CB at #6, but that's okay since there are multiple skilled CBs in the draft (Pac Man Jones, Antrel Rolle, and even Carlos Rogers). With Washington at #9 possibly contemplating a CB pick, it probably would be best to stick at #7 or #8, but the compensation landed from the trade combined with the lower salary paid at #7/#8 versus #3 is considerable.

If the Browns end up stuck at #3, I think WR is the way to go. As the 3/25/2005 mailbag revealed, not every Cleveland fan is sold on Edwards, but either he or Mike Williams would be a nice addition to the team. It doesn't solve the CB problem, but it's still an excellent pickup, and there will be CBs on the board in round two (unless Cleveland opts to go with a QB at that point).
