Subject: Hey Lou interesting fact on Eagles
The Philadelphia eagles have not selected a running back in the first round in 18 years. It was Keith Byers.
If we nabbed another solid OL, we'd have a stellar O-line for years, but Reid switches up so figure a defensive tackle or end as the first pick in 2005.
Lou: I'm still mystified at the decision made last year to take Shawn Andrews, an outstanding offensive tackle who dominated against elite talent in the SEC, and turn him into a guard. Maybe if Elton Brown falls to them, the Eagles can draft him and move Andrews to his natural tackle position. I'm not sure if that's in the plans, though.
As for history, remember how many years it had been since Pittsburgh took a first round QB before last year... and that turned out pretty well for them, I must say. I would think that Philly would go DT before DE, since they have so much money tied up in Jevon Kearse, but it's not implausable that they'd take a DE if the right one is on the board. Remember also that the Eagles have Miami's high second round pick, so they could go DT in the first and hope Fason falls to them in round two.
