Subject: browns mock
the browns need another quarterback like i need to eat another meal. look for them to go for the offensive linemen they've needed to take the pressure off an already more than average defense...that is unless they put together a couple trade packages to get some help up front before the draft.
Lou: Cleveland is a wonderful city (at least in my experiences there), but Jeff Garcia has not had a good time as a member of the Cleveland Browns. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Garcia wants out. Garcia has been quoted as saying that being in Cleveland was "worse than I've ever experienced." So unless Luke McCown and Kelly Holcolmb prove to be capable, I'd expect to see some sort of change in the guard there, particularly with a new coach coming on board.
At the same time, I do agree that Cleveland has very pressing needs at other positions. But would they take Alex Barron at #3? Or Antrel Rolle? How about Derrick Johnson? All of those players would fill holes for the Browns, but taking them at #3 might be a stretch, especially if a team is willing to trade up to get Smith (or Aaron Rodgers or someone else). Trading out of the top five can be tough, but it's not impossible. Cleveland really needs some offensive line help, but that's nothing new. Would Cleveland really pass on Smith or Rodgers to take Barron? That would be a brazen move...

Subject: Da Bears Draft Options
Hey Lou, I'm a huge bears fan and I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to trade their #4 for other picks later in the draft (they have no 3rd round pick). Is Mike Williams as good as I've been lead to believe? They have a couple holes to fill (like every team), but I've seen them waste first round picks for so long (Terrel, Enis, Salaam, McNown), I don't want them to draft a WR chump when they could get a Defensive stud like Rolle or D. Johnson. Please tell me Williams is Da Man!
Lou: I think Mike Williams is the real deal. If I was the GM of the Bears, I'd take Mike Williams in a heartbeat if he was on the board at #4 and feel elated about it. Tall, fast, great hands, disciplined... he's the real deal. Braylon Edwards might be a temptation, but I think Williams is a superior prospect.
I don't think Antrel Rolle will fall past the Titans at #6; as for Derrick Johnson, he's a bit of a wild card in the mix. It is possible he could fall to Carolina at #14 (which is what I project now), but he could go in the top 10, or even the top 5.
